The Excellence Group recently organised a luxury event hosted by the prestigious Emsworth polo Grounds to showcase Team Brit and their new Aston Martin Vantage V8, in which the team stormed to victory in their first ever GT4 race at Oulton Park on the 12th May. The high net worth guests were treated to the inside track on the drivers’ experiences and the inspiring story of how Team Brit was formed.

Reubyn Ash, the talented British surfer who is the current English open surfing champion and two-time European Champion, was on hand to announce the exciting news that Formex Watches are now sponsors of the incredible racing team, Team Brit. Ash, a brand ambassador for the Swiss watch maker, presented the team with their Formex sports watches to mark the occasion.

CEO and Founder of Team BRIT, Dave Player said, “We’re delighted to welcome Formex to the team and we’re extremely grateful for their support. The Formex Family is full of sports people who are pushing boundaries to be the very best at what they do – an ethos that runs through the heart of our team. We’re looking forward to working together throughout the 2018 season.”

Formex Watches are completely Swiss made and designed; a fusion of high performance materials such as stainless steel, titanium grade 2, ceramic, carbon-fibre and very reliable Swiss Made movements making them virtually indestructible. One of the most unique aspects of a Formex watch is its case suspension system. Inspired by the world of high performance bikes and racing cars, this cushion concept protects the watch movement from strong impacts or vibrations and makes the watch incredibly comfortable to wear.

Given Formex’s dedication to speed, precision, mechanics and adrenaline, their sponsorship of, the most inspirational team in motor sport, Team Brit is a perfect fit. This competitive motor racing team consists of disabled drivers, many of whom are ex or serving military troops and sustained serious injuries. Team Brit however, is not a charity and races against teams of able-bodied drivers on a totally level playing field — something that no other sport can offer. The team are looking to make motor racing history by taking part in the world famous Le Mans 24hr endurance race and becoming the first ever all-disabled team to do so.

Another company who added to the high-octane atmosphere was Reep Southern who bought some magnificent supercars along for the evening, including two Aston Martins, a Jaguar F Type and the Reep Jeep. Guests added to this line up with their own supercars, more Aston Martins, Alfa Romeos, Porsches, Bentleys, and Ferraris, which looked magnificent parked by the pavillion, next to the polo ponies.

Reep Southern provides automotive asset protection from their state of the art facility at the Top Gear Track in Dunsfold. The Old Fire Station on Gambon Corner is home to a specially built clean room and detailing studio. The clean room is equipped with advanced lighting and temperature controls and the Reep team are trained and accredited to use the latest cutting-edge products in detailing, windscreen protection, paint protection, paint protection film and wrapping.

The Emsworth polo Grounds proved to be the perfect backdrop for the event. The incredible facilities, which sit in 72 acres of beautiful Berkshire countryside, offer privacy and exclusivity for a product launch, polo experience, corporate retreat, team build or private hire. This wonderful location provides an authentic introduction to the sport and an opportunity to see behind the scenes of a successful polo organisation.

Owners Simon and Romilla Arber and Tom Morley, played an exhilarating 9 chukkas for the guests. One of the notable attendees, Max Charlton provided expert analysis of this exciting display of polo after the match. Charlton has been playing since the age of 12 and is one of three British polo players to play with a handicap of seven. He is a well-established member of the England squad and has played in most of the world’s major tournaments.

CEO of The Excellence Group, Yves de Contades, commented: “The Excellence Group partners brands that possess quality, integrity, ambition and synergy, promoting only the very best to a high net worth audience that values our selective approach.”

Also in attendance were car collectors, automotive designers, investors, bankers, members of the press and successful sports figures, all sharing a love of cars and polo. The guests were treated to a wonderful Argentinian Asado barbecue and sipped chilled champagne in the blazing sunshine against the beautiful backdrop of pristine polo fields, top class polo, Team Brit’s Aston Martin GT4 and other incredible supercars.
